  1. The original Pebbles albums were re-recordings, albeit high quality, of the artists original LP's or singles and due to the obscurity of many of the songs the quality varies dramatically. Some songs have very audible pops and even repetitive scratch noises in some cases but this is not a flaw in the current vinyl but a legacy of the original /5(5).
  2. Sep 09,  · V.A. - Pebbles Vol. 4 (Summer Means Fun!) Pebbles Volume 4 (BFD / ) is dedicated to the '60s US Surf scene, mainly California. There are some good tunes on it like "Anywhere The Girls Are" by The Fantastic Baggys or "New Generation" by The Trashmen that could also appeal the garage fan.

  5. The Pebbles series are collections of obscure 60's songs that have sadly been overlooked by critics and the music press in general. Volume one trawled up some stupendous psych-garage rarities but I think volume two is better.5/5(2).
  6. Always playful, the varied and eccentric Pebbles series dedicates its fourth volume to to poppy surf tunes. Hardline garage and psych fans treat it as a black mark on the series, presumably because they don't come to comps like these for sunny wistfulness and uncomplicated sugary joy– but I welcome it whenever it comes.
